Welcome to Woodinville
Home to legendary wine, picturesque landscapes, and happening events
Situated as part of the Seattle metropolitan area, Woodinville is known for its wineries, tourism, and recreation. Within the city limits, there are over 100 wine-tasting rooms where wine lovers can sample legendary wines and find new favorites. Part of the benefit of living in Woodinville is the community, which is accessible, unhurried, intimate, and peaceful.
Woodinville was founded in 1871, and a single cabin became the location for Woodinville's first Sunday school, first school, and first post office, and was a halfway house between Seattle and other settlements up the Sammamish River, which was initially named Squak Slough. Woodinville did not stay isolated long because the Seattle-Lake Shore & Eastern Railway arrived in 1888 and became the main transportation for the area, promoting town development.
Today, homes in Woodinville are predominantly Colonial Revival, but others are becoming popular, such as Tudor Revival, floating homes, and NW modern. All of these architectural styles influence the homes and apartment buildings found in Woodinville.
